Just cancelled my order without warning 3 times
I used to read these bad reviews about Cooksongold and I thought -oh those people are being over the top-Mistakes happen and with everything going on I understand, but now I get it! I have been patient, but this is too much now and you can only make so many mistakes and excuses. If you are still short staffed-get a better system in place & better internal communication.
I spoke to / emailed a few people all with a different excuse...just say you messed up instead of fibbing and making excuses.
Latest order, which was ordered in June and charged for in full and status updated daily to dispatched , eventually phoned almost 3 weeks later...to be told oops it’s still in the building and will be dispatched the next day-fast fwd next day to an email saying they do not have stock of an item- (I’ve already paid in full and it was in stock at time of order)
Having had enough, thoroughly p.o. I cancel my order & request a refund.
When you try to cancel your order and get your money back they kick their asses into gear always loaded with excuses(b.s excuses I might add) they canceled my order and then MADE A NEW ORDER with the items from my previous order they had in stock and proceeded to try and charge me AGAIN (after I had said to cancel and refund me, who the hell does that! and by the way this is NOT the first time they have charged me twice for the same order)
THEN! Yes there’s more...more excuses...they continue to tell me that my order was cancelled and the reason there was confusion the invoice wasn’t printed and my money was refunded ( it never was) absolute fumbling nonsense excuse, The previous people I spoke to had different excuses fyi -at this point I am sitting with my bank statements.
Then after a phone call trying to find out what is going on and to get my refund and cancel my order (old and the new one they just created)….the person on the phone says „I will go down right now and make sure this order goes out“ uhmmmm English? Spanish? German? What language do you want me to speak? What don’t you understand about cancel my order and refund me please. (3rd request at this time)
After having to argue that I was not refunded - this should not even have to happen in the first place.
I finally receive my refund.
Needless to say, will NEVER be ordering again. Account deleted with them.
oh by the way Cooksongold, I never leave bad reviews. Congratulations on being my first bad review ????????
You have been a complete nightmare to deal with.

Always excellent products and excellent customer service from Cooksongold!
We regularly use Cooksongold for all our jewellery needs and their range of tools, cleaning products and accessories is second to none!
Every order is perfectly packed and is exactly what we've ordered that every time we need a resupply shopping at Cooksongold makes it so simple to do!
Thank you Cooksongold for all of your help with our orders and we will continue to use you every time!
I want to start by saying I did receive my order in full, so that part was ok.
In light of an earlier bad experience with Cooksongold.com / the UK mother company I ordered from Cooksongold.DE items in stock and being under the impression that I was buying from a German based subsidiary since they also mention a German VAT number DE312262716. With Brexit and being Europe based myself it was very important to me to buy from a European based company.
However upon sending my order, suddenly the goods were shipped and invoiced from Cooksongold UK and the order could not be stopped after the packing phase.
After arrival I received an addition invoice from DHL (shipment was not by DPD as stated) with extra duties, administration costs and VAT due to Brexit and the UK (in contrary to Germany of course) being a 3rd country customs wise.
Cooksongold.de was running a special offer at the time with free shipping, which lead to the error of Cooksongold not mentioning any shipping costs on the commercial invoice. When dealing with export and the shipper not stating any amount for shipping costs paid, customs/DHL will make up their own shipping costs (in this case a whopping 110,4 EUR) and charge additional VAT on this as well. A costly mistake that presented me with extra costs I should not have had to pay and would like to see reimbursed / corrected at customs by Cooksongold.
I feel extremely mislead that goods were shipped from the UK to Europe when buying from a German website and this is not clearly stated beforehand (at best they mention; "in some cases certain goods may be shipped from the UK"). When buying goods in stock (not special ordering) from a German website, a customer can perfectly assume all goods are being sent out of a German warehouse.
Unfortunately my order was delivered by DHL without any additional costs first to only slap me with the invoice a week later, so I could not refuse delivery in order to avoid these unforeseen costs. If I had ordered willingly from a UK or US based company, then yes extra costs by customs were to be expected and I would not making a bad review. Again, DE/German website, German VAT number at the bottom = leading the customer to believe purchasing from a German / EU bases company and shipping within EU borders.
I ordered the glass sterling silver lockets and twice I was sent completely random items including ladybird studs! I sent pictures to cooksongold and I’ve been trying to get my lockets for 2 weeks and they are now no longer replying to me and have effectively stolen my money. How can you give customers who spend thousands of pounds with you a year the wrong item twice and then ignore them and don’t issue the correct one? I want to point out that the ladybird studs I was sent has a massively lower value than what I paid. If you don’t give me what I’ve paid for I will seek legal advice - this company is a joke!
I have a mixed opinion about this store. If you order an item that is listed 'In stock' then you shouldn't have a problem. I have order from this store a few time and the items that were listed 'In stock' are great and arrive within the week. However, I have ordered a few items that were listed as 'Expected'. 2 months on and they still haven't arrived. I have checked my order receipt and it is still listed as 'Awaiting preparation'. I have contacted the company via email a couple of time asking when I should expect these items to arrive; with no response. I really don't understand why the 'Expected' option exists. Its misleading to us, your customers and I believe you would have a much better customer experience without it. Being a new, small business, I have already lost valued customers as they have given up waiting. There's nothing more frustrating than receiving a bad review about something you can not control. I will still use you as a supplier, only buying items listed as 'In Stock'. However, I would like to be refunded for the items that have not arrived. I have found an alternation supplier for those items and no longer need them from you.
Thank you
I have placed several orders with Cookson Gold over the last 6 months. Generally they have been ok - however, a handful of sterling silver chains I purchased have gone yellow - after 3 months of purchase, which means I can no longer use them. I contacted their dire customer service to ask if I could send them back from them to look at for replacements - because obviously you expect a silver chain to last longer than a few months before discolouring... Cookson Gold however seem to think this is totally acceptable - So far I have been told to buy a container of silver dip ( this is more expensive than buying new chains ) I have then been told discolouration is normal (really?? after 3 months?!) and that how I have stored it could have caused it - they have been stored inside the bags that Cookson Gold sent them in, then kept in a closed draw, inside a room in my house - not near a window, not in direct sunlight, not in a humid atmosphere.
Upon questioning how long they would expect silver to last before discolouring, I've just been sent a cut and paste 'lesson' they got from Google...
Totally unacceptable customer service... If I had sold these chains onto my customers I would have to give them a refund for tarnished/cheap quality items. If you buy an item of jewellery, you expect it to last longer than a few months - even wearing it every single day you would expect it to last longer.
It's a shame their service is so appalling, they have just lost a customer.
Saw many bad reviews which is understandable if people have had a bad experience, but I thought I’d take the risk as I needed a large amount of fimo clay and Cookson gold had the best deals. Bought via eBay and the delivery was efficient, I saved a lot of money and everything arrived correctly. I’m sorry to anyone who had a poor experience but for me it was ????????
I ordered over a holiday weekend and rang 8.35am on the Tuesday to check they had received. Was impressed with their customer care which is impeccable. I was told my order would arrive either the next day or Thursday and I would receive an email of the delivery slot. The following day received an email confirmation and within the designated time slot received my package. My item was packaged with care. Exceedingly impressed with this company ..flawless and seamless ordering process...very quick delivery...carefully packaged...prompt, reliable and efficient. I will without doubt order from them again ...they remain top of my list as a business supplier!
Bought a set of files, about 50 quids' worth. The only place in the UK that had them. Delivery took two or three days pre-Xmas. A smooth experience from start to finish - will shop with them again.
Excellent service. Placed my order and received it via DPD the next morning. Packed really well and no damages.
My go to jewellery supply website great selection for professionals.
Quality isn’t always perfect but customer service do their best to put it right.
I do love their eco packaging when they ship goods and I regularly reuse it for storing plates of silver or over flat materials.
I have been trying for four days to get on to Cooksons website but it will not load. Hoping. they will read this and say if their website is down or not. I want to put in an order, but need to look up the items before I do, so I can't do it over the phone.
